And some Republicans are talking about ending the war, leading to hopes of a Left-Right coalition coming together to push President Obama to accelerate U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. There’s even speculation there could be Republican presidential candidates calling for an end to the war.

Here’s the New York Times article on the $100 Billion Cut, a goal announced by the Republican Study Group, which counts about 2/3 of House GOPpers among its membership. It doesn’t mention the cost of the war in Afghanistan nor the overall military budget, perhaps letters to the editor are in order?
