NBC Cancels Stars Earn Stripes! Let’s Cancel the Real Wars next!

Tonight’s show will be the last episode of the NBC war-o-tainment show “Stars Earn Stripes,” thanks to protests, petitions and sinking viewership. Great job by Peace Action of New York State and many other groups in the NYC area who organized protests at NBC HQ in Manhattan. Close to 50,000 people also signed the petition sponsored by Roots Action calling for the show’s cancellation. Well done! Now on to cancelling the wars!

Thank you for canceling the program – now move to cancel our participation in war.

  2. joe says:

Whats the point of canceling the show? It was for charities for the military.

  3. Peter says:

I don’t get why everyone has made such a big deal. It’s not glorifying war, they are earning morning for charities that deal with the armed forces and their families. Who cares if they simulate war scenarios, I don’t see why that is such a bad thing. Get the sticks out of your asses and move on to doing something better with your lives. I actually found this show entertaining to say the least and it makes people realize what our men and women of the armed forces have to deal with all the time. I’ve gained even more respect for our armed forces after seeing very strong and fit people struggle with the missions…..like Terry Crews for example. This show should ignore the 50,000 people and their petition and start the show back up. They are only 50,000…..we have WAY more then that in Jacksonville, FL ALONE haha

  4. Kind of like closing the barn door after the horse is out. They cancelled it (or so you say), but only after showing all the episodes. Yeah there might not be a season 2, but since Chris Kyle died, it would be strange watching it anyways without him. All this show did is raise money for charity and give people a better appreciation of what the armed forces go through. Maybe we need to send the protesters off to war in their place. Would change their tune quickly I think.

The looming SOLAS 2010 implementation date offers both perils and opportunities.
